Ashley Myrick is a singer/songwriter from Dallas Texas. Her music is a smooth blend of folk based vocals mixed with heavy sound beds and piano driven rifts. Formerly performing under the name Lalagrey, Myrick started writing songs in 2005 while still living in Fort Worth, her song writing coalesced in 2010 in the album “Devils Nest” a pop/country mix of ballads and folk jams. Looking to build on the following garnered while performing as Lalagrey, Ashley is now moving in a new direction with a new collection of demo tracks released under her own name.

Myrick’s new music is a step into the realm of “Heartbreak” ballads. She writes songs that have the same type of hypnotic pull as tracks by The Fray and Maroon 5. As an artist Ashley Myrick comes cross sounding like the antithesis of Colbie Caillat, were most piano pop shoots for light and bubbly, Myrick uses heavier notes and bass tones to build and develop each song. Layered across this foundation is Ashley’s voice which is something akin to chocolate mousse, dark in color while remaining wispy and ethereal.

The feel and tone that Ashley seems to be moving toward with her music is poised to build some great traction in today’s musical landscape of genre fusions and remixes. With the right set of producers backing her, Ashley Myrick has unique take on a niche style of song writing that resonates well with audiences, filmmakers and music lovers everywhere.
