Isaiah Perkins of B!Creativity
Isaiah Perkins is an up and coming artist with plenty of things on his plate. If he’s not busy running B!Creativity, a branding and marketing business for independent music artists, then he’s putting in work on a new piece of art. We’ve had a chance to ask Isaiah about himself and have a photo shoot with him.
We asked Isaiah to tell us about his background; here’s what he had to say:
“Ever since I could remember, I’ve been drawing. I believe my first whooping came from me coloring my bed room wall purple, all crayon. But that is another story. My name is Zay and I am an artist.
Right now, I reside in Dallas, Texas where I run B!Creativity and work as an independent artist. I have two degrees in the arts (A.A. Fine arts and B.F.A. in Graphic Design). I started B!Creativity as an outlet for music artists that needed/wanted the proper branding and marketing. I assist a lot of the artists with their booking, promotion and designs for their brand such as, flyers, press releases and web layouts. For more info on B!Creativity you can go to bcreativity.com to read bios, listen to music, and so on. The site was also designed by moi.
When I’m not running the management group, I’m a painter with no bounds. Most would describe my work as “new pop art” or just “man, that sh!t hot!”. Personally, I like to combine different styles and tech that I’ve learned over the years. When it comes to art, a lot of my inspiration comes from day-to-day pop culture, other artists and music. At the beginning of this year in January, I told myself I would paint more every day. I hadn’t completed a full painting in about a year in a half (due to moving, bad living situations and just life’s random mess). Since then, I’ve completed close to 60 paintings and sold more than half of them with no Dallas-based show or promotion. I recently set up a site where you can view my work and updates http://artandlyfe.com“
Isaiah’s work definitely has personality, style, and finesse, and while he has a distinct style, no two paintings are ever very similar. Perkins paints some of his favorite icons and also does commissioned work. He’s always looking for something new and fresh to paint and gathers his inspiration from just about anywhere, but music is biggie for him. If you pass by his studio, you might hear music playing from his open windows and catch a glimpse of him in his work zone. Isaiah has talent, and we look forward to seeing what his next moves will be.
